Michael Loescher
Michael Loescher is the CEO of The Copernicus Group of Washington DC, Inc. Over 30 years of professional life, he has become widely acknowledged as one of the foremost experts in military and government reform in the US. He has authored, or been contributing author to, five books on the subject and numerous staff studies and articles. His most recent book, Proteus ...Insights from 2020, is used as a text across academia and the US government, including the National Security Council and the White House. It was sold out from its first printing of 10,000 copies in four months. His next book—Shaping Chaos ...on New Instruments of Power—is in draft.
During his service as a US Navy Commander, Loescher was twice selected as one of the top 100 US Government employees in the Nation. Michael Loescher was a Fellow at Georgetown University and held the first Admiral William A. Moffett Chair for Innovation in Naval Warfare at the US Naval Institute. He holds Masters Degrees in Strategy and in Foreign Affairs, and an undergraduate degree in biochemistry.
From 1985 to 1995, as an active duty Navy Cryptologist, he personally authored every official US Navy policy paper on C4ISR and IT acquisition. He served as principal advisor to the Secretary of the Navy and Deputy CIO from 1995-1998. He was a principal drafter of the present US Department of Defense Network-Centric Warfare doctrine. He teaches and lectures regularly both in the US and overseas.
Michael Loescher is married to Christina Evans, a senior staff member of the US Senate Appropriations Committee.
